What’s one of the BIGGEST reasons most of us never seem to be able to break away for working for someone else and live the lifestyle we really want to? My educated guess is that it has everything to do with our fear of taking that GIANT LEAP into the unknown. I mean, how do you leave a steady paycheck that puts food on the table? Well, thank goodness there’s a disarmingly simple answer to that question. You DON’T. At least, NOT YET. Contrary to the ‘black and white’ type of thinking that most of us subject ourselves to, there’s PLENTY of ‘grey area’ when it comes to becoming an entrepreneur. One of the greatest ways to demonstrate just how[…]

Most, if not all of us reading this newsletter have been blessed to live in a country where FREEDOM is held in high esteem. For most of us, that means having the ability to say what we want, believe as we choose and move without restraint around our surroundings. It also means we have the freedom to make or break our own futures. None of that is to be taken lightly. Yet, I wonder how many of us actually grasp the BIG PICTURE. Do we ever really allow ourselves to be TRULY FREE? For years and years I’ve wondered how those who gladly accept government subsidies and/or who wait in line for a hand out can possibly understand themselves to[…]
Yesterday afternoon I was chatting with a friend on the phone. He, like many (perhaps yourself included) is contemplating the idea of “firing the boss” and going to work for himself. But what I’d say is THE most common obstacle to making the jump stands squarely in his path. I’m referring to, of course, that “safety net” of a secure income and solid bennies that typically come with “working for the man”. I completely get where he’s coming from. And having thought about it myself for the past 24 hours or so, I’ve come to a startling conclusion. Had the big IT company I used to work for actually ALLOWED me to stick around rather than walking me out of[…]
There’s no doubt about it. When you’re starting from square one, to say it’s intimidating to consider the many steps ahead to successis an UNDERSTATEMENT. That holds true in the corporate world, but is ESPECIALLY true if you are in the process of firing the boss and trying your hand as an Internet Entrepreneur. Well, I’m going to show you a way to empower yourself through the process that may seem very obvious once you hear about it, but which almost nobody actually puts into practice. And that’s this: Instead of focusing on the ONE BIG PRIZE at the end of the rainbow, learn how to REJOICE IN and LEVERAGE even the smallest successes along the way. Here’s what I[…]
I had an AMAZING conversation with a friend yesterday. Essentially, we came to the conclusion that a lot of people out there love “The Wall”. Now, by this I don’t mean they’re big fans of the Pink Floyd cult movie from the ’70s. (Although they may be…) We weren’t talking about the border between the United States and Mexico, either. Rather, we were talking about THE WALL that WE OURSELVES build. Why do we build–and love–“The Wall”? Simple. We build it to keep stuff out that we don’t want getting in. That could mean people we don’t want to let close enough to us to hurt us. It could mean stress or strain that we perceive as unnecessary. OR…we COULD[…]
During a casual conversation the other day, someone pointed out something to me that caught me completely off-guard. There happened to be a FedEx delivery envelope on the table, and my friend said, “It’s just pure genius, FedEx’s logo, isn’t it?” “You think?”, I said, “It’s just words in block letters.” “Ha!”, my friend responded, “You mean you’ve never noticed that there’s an arrow between the ‘e’ and the ‘x’?” I readily admitted that I hadn’t. But I was intrigued by the simple fact that FedEx’s logo had been in my face for YEARS, yet I had somehow missed the arrow. So I did a quick poll of several of my friends. NONE of them had ever noticed the arrow[…]
Recently in my mastermind group, the subject of “haters” came up. You know what I mean…we’re talking the diametric opposite of “glowing testimonials” here. Apparently, one of the guys in our group who is in the early stages of building his list had just experienced his first “hate mail”, and he was wondering how exactly to handle it. That’s a question ALL of us are hit with sooner or later in the Internet marketing business, isn’t it? When you decide to build a list you inherently decide to make yourself vulnerable to the wistful opinions of Internet users…all of whom have the distinct luxury of hiding behind a veil of anonymity. In a very real way this is a GOOD[…]
