Most, if not all of us reading this newsletter have been blessed to live in a country where FREEDOM is held in high esteem.

For most of us, that means having the ability to say what we want, believe as we choose and move without restraint around our surroundings.

It also means we have the freedom to make or break our own futures.

None of that is to be taken lightly.

Yet, I wonder how many of us actually grasp the BIG PICTURE. Do we ever really allow ourselves to be TRULY FREE?

For years and years I’ve wondered how those who gladly accept government subsidies and/or who wait in line for a hand out can possibly understand themselves to be “free” when they’ve allowed themselves to be dependent on “Big Brother”…by choice.

But lately I’ve come to a deeper and perhaps more chilling conclusion. Most of us who even consider ourselves “successful” have actually CHOSEN to restrict our own freedoms.

That’s right. And moreover, a the vast majority of us even work very hard to PREPARE ourselves for LESS freedom.

Think about it. When you attend trade school to learn how to fix HVAC units or to be a court reporter, how much time is spent showing you how to run your OWN business based on your new-found skills?

And if you’ve had the good fortune of attending university, what percentage of your time spent in earning your education, political science or even business administration major focused on preparing you to run your OWN school, political organization and/or business?

My guess is very little, if any.

There’s a clear, if very subtle, reason for this.

In order for the world economy to flourish, we need EMPLOYEES.

Not everyone can be an entrepreneur. A certain percentage of the population (and it’s a large one, obviously) has GOT to fill in the ranks of the “worker bees”.

So then, given that the entrepreneurial cream tends to rise to the top (or at least get handed down within the family unit), most of us are SOCIALIZED to accept a life working for someone else.

It’s very true. In fact, it HAS to be true.

But make no mistake. A life lived in service to another master is a life restricted from TRUE FREEDOM.

Are you going to be one of the few who rises to the occasion? Do you have the sheer courage to investigate what TRUE FREEDOM actually could mean?

If so, I’m here to support you 100% in that noble endeavor. Drop me a note at scot@unchainedoffice.com and tell me your story.

Be sure to give me a way to reach you via phone or Skype, also, so we can talk about it.

Here’s To Greatness,
